Greenland Mines Adds European Raw Materials Alliance to Skaergaard Strategy

ERMA membership gives Skaergaard a European industrial platform as Greenland Mines builds technical, environmental, and processing work around the East Greenland project.

Greenland Mines has added another policy and industry link around its Skaergaard project in East Greenland, announcing that the company and its 80%-owned Greenlandic subsidiary, Major Precious Greenland A/S, have joined the European Raw Materials Alliance.

The membership places the Skaergaard project inside a European critical-minerals network designed to connect raw-materials projects with industrial users, policymakers, investors, technology providers, and supply-chain partners.

ERMA was established by the European Commission and is managed by EIT RawMaterials. The alliance brings together participants across the raw-materials value chain, including mining and exploration companies, processors, recyclers, OEMs, technology providers, research organizations, investors, regions, and NGOs.

The company framed the membership as part of a broader “North Atlantic critical-minerals corridor” linking Greenland’s mineral resource base with potential low-carbon processing in Iceland and access to European and North American markets.

The announcement follows several recent steps by Greenland Mines around Skaergaard. In March, the company engaged WSP Danmark A/S to support environmental baseline work tied to a future exploitation-license path. In April, Major Precious Greenland A/S joined the Greenland Business Association. The company also announced a non-binding letter of intent to evaluate a downstream processing site in Iceland, followed by agreements with GTK Mintec for metallurgical and processing work and SLR Consulting as geological consultant and Qualified Person.
