Greenland Energy Company has shifted its targeted permitting timeline for the Jameson Land oil exploration project to winter 2027.
In an August 11 announcement, the company said its joint venture partner, 80 Mile plc, had received information from the Government of Greenland that the project would require a more extensive and comprehensive review.
“Operating in the Arctic requires patience, flexibility and a long-term perspective,” Greenland Energy CEO Robert Price said.

Price reaffirmed the company’s commitment to advancing the project responsibly, in compliance with Greenland’s regulatory process and in cooperation with Greenlandic authorities.
He said the additional time would be used to refine the company’s plans and deepen relationships with local communities, strategic partners and relevant authorities. Price added that the company’s ongoing work had strengthened his confidence in Greenland, its people and the long term potential for responsible resource development.
The company is also reviewing the logistical and infrastructure changes required by the extended permitting process and will provide shareholders with further information when practical.
