Greenland Energy Turns Jameson Land Into a Docuseries With Dr. Phil’s Envoy Media

Greenland Energy Company has found a new way to put East Greenland’s Jameson Land Basin in front of a much larger audience: a powerful storytelling partner with mainstream American reach.

The company announced that Dr. Phil McGraw’s Envoy Media Co. will produce “Arctic Wildcatters,” a six-part docuseries following Greenland Energy Company’s planned oil exploration campaign in East Greenland. According to the company announcement, the series will follow the logistics, people and strategic ambitions behind the Jameson Land project, with filming connected to the company’s 2026 exploration push.

A televised docuseries gives Greenland Energy Company a different kind of platform: one built around adventure, access, personality and frontier energy storytelling.

The Jameson Land project has already drawn scrutiny in Greenland over what the company is permitted to do, how its plans are being described, and how residents near the project area are being informed. Greenlandic authorities have stressed that official information must come from the government, while residents have asked practical questions about jobs, risks, local benefits and environmental safeguards.

Against that backdrop, “Arctic Wildcatters” is more than entertainment. It is a media vehicle for Greenland Energy Company’s version of the story. It may also bring overdue attention to Ittoqqortoormiit, a community that deserves more.

At its best, the docuseries could make the Jameson Land project easier for a general audience to understand. The real test will be whether it also gives viewers a serious look at East Greenland, Ittoqqortoormiit and the people closest to the project.
